Kelly's Story โ€” And Why This Store Exists

Duncan was a Lhasa Bichon. He was a very well behaved service dog โ€” Duncan died after consuming Science Diet contaminated pet food.

What followed wasn't just grief. It was action.

From Loss to Movement

Kelly Bone โ€” Duncan's Mom โ€” filed a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer. And in the process of building that case, she discovered something that changed the way she saw every bag of pet food on every store shelf.

The pet food industry has been obscuring the truth about ingredients for decades. Fillers labeled as nutrition. By-products presented as protein. Marketing language designed to make processed, shelf-stable, questionable-origin ingredients look like a balanced meal.

So Kelly built something. A platform. An education ecosystem. A community of pet parents who now read every label, question every ingredient, and refuse to accept "good enough" for the animals they love.

Saving Pets One Pet @ a Time

That platform is Saving Pets One Pet @ a Time. If you want the deep dive โ€” the research, the raw feeding guides, the label-reading tutorials โ€” that's where you go.

This store is the lifestyle side of that same mission. The wearable declaration that you're one of us. That you've done the work, made the switch, and you're not going back.

Every product features Duncan. Because he started all of this. And because every dog deserves a pet parent who fights like Kelly did.

About This Store

The Saving Pets merch store is operated by Melissa Poisson in partnership with Kelly Bone. Melissa designs, sources, and runs the store โ€” including handmaking the pet bandanas and stickers right here in Michigan.

Every product is chosen to reflect the Saving Pets mission: quality over convenience, real over processed, love over shortcuts.

When you shop here, you're not just buying a shirt. You're joining the community of people who believe that properly nourished isn't a luxury โ€” it's the baseline and supporting the cause keeps her group and website free.
